[su_column size=”2/3″ center=”yes”]I am, and always have been, a pretty big nerd. I have been into video games since I was little, have always been fond of the typical Star Trek / Star Wars / Firefly trio and have a ever growing collection in comic books (mind you, not many people collect comics really around these parts, as far as I know).  I am really glad that there has been a huge growth in nerd culture, finally getting some recognition from the critics on the streets with movies and merchandise getting a lot of mainstream attention.

But I’m not just a nerd. I also love good design. This is one of the reasons why I always loved comics, despite being unrealistic and even sexist in their nature. The artists who fill the pages are people I look up to immensely and I always found great inspiration from said books. Ruiz Burgoz has had the same obsession with comic book characters as me and used his skills as an illustrator to create multiple stunning pieces based on all your favorite comics. I won’t list them all, but will focus on the Norman Rockwell DC Characters series he has done. Setting famous heroes and villains in history as if they were front page news at the time, much like famous illustrator Norman Rockwell would back in his day.

The Norman Rockwell DC Characters as portrayed by Burgoz can be found in the slider below or check out his portfolio for more work!
